Hi! I am Adrian and my work is all about finding novel approaches and innovative technologies that enable businesses to operate more sustainably. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with fast-growing tech companies to address global issues such supply chain visibility, the transition to a circular economy and placemaking. That’s been a real privilege and it has involved me in some of the most visionary corporate sustainability programs of recent times.

My Why

I am curious by nature. I’ve always wanted to know how things work and I have an instinctive belief that, however things work, they can be made to work better. I suppose that’s what has always drawn me to working with new technology and also to companies that are very much purpose-driven. I am a passionate advocate of life-cycle thinking and the circular economy. My work uses data insights to show how natural, human, social and economic capital can be balanced when making decisions.

The Social Value

My work with Ethos is all about placemaking - a multifaceted approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces. A wave of social, economic, and technological change has led to seismic change in our towns and cities on a scale not seen since the industrial revolution. That means there’s an opportunity to recreate urban spaces in a way that promotes people’s health, happiness and wellbeing.

How I feel privileged to do what I do

Being blessed with a mind-set that questions everything by default, I was never entirely comfortable in the conventional corporate setting; particularly when I was younger. However, in a world that’s realising that ‘business as usual’ is no longer an option, I find my brand of constructive scepticism is making a real difference to the ways in which those same corporations see the world around them. Thinking back to my own early career also makes me feel privileged to have seen Ethos’s Young Leaders project in action. In Young Leaders, curiosity, innovation and social purpose were encouraged and nurtured. I know that those that blossomed in their time at Ethos will find their unique place and value far sooner in their careers than I did.
