Connecting a city
In Guildford we have built a full-scale demonstrator of the world’s largest multi-asset parking and retail monitoring system, Fixed and mobile sensors in car parks and key shopping streets deliver live information to businesses and local government, 24 hours a day. This data allows shoppers to find parking, retailers to gain valuable insights and authorities to better understand how to develop and maintain a thriving town centre.

Wellbeing through sport
TeamPolice is an exciting new joint-venture by Police Sport UK and Ethos, which will raise much needed funds through an innovative sponsorship scheme whose aim is to improve the wellbeing of our UK Police Forces through increased participation in sport and physical activity.

Building Pathways
Constructing Careers for Emerging Talent
Building Pathways’ mission is to connect people from under-represented groups with mentoring, skills training and career opportunities in the construction industry, enabling them to achieve fulfilling careers and reach their potential. Initially a CITB funded project, Building Pathways was managed and delivered by Ethos until being spun-out in May 2020.
BUILDLONDON
Connecting local people to local jobs
BuildLondon connects job seekers with vacancies in London’s major infrastructure and construction projects, and provides the construction industry with the skilled workers it needs. As the only London-wide, specialist construction industry brokerage, BuildLondon offers a central point of contact for industry, colleges, local authorities and supports communities, diversity in construction and people wanting to train, upskill or reskill.
GEOmii Parking
Taking the pain out of parking
GEOmii Parking improves citizens’ quality of life by allowing drivers to find spaces easily thanks to artificial intelligence working in conjunction with sensor systems to predict available parking. Using real time and predicted data, the GEOmii Parking mobile app helps drivers navigate to the best parking place, which in turn helps city authorities’ to cut down urban congestion and air pollution levels.
Smart Retail
Powering the high street revival
Ethos Smart retail harnesses sensor technology and proven data analytics to identify how shoppers move around retail areas. Our system provides retailers, developers and landlords with live analysis of the footfall density outside their retail outlet, shopper dwell time and peel off rate into their store. This data is profoundly valuable for BIDs and LAs planning evidence-based high street improvement schemes.
SkillsPlanner
Solving the skills gap
SkillsPlanner is an innovative approach to solving industry skills shortages. A linked open data platform that can aggregate and analyse data from a variety of different sources, SkillsPlanner was piloted in the London construction ecosystem, where skills gaps are significant, and allowed employers and skills providers to share the data that makes meeting future employment needs possible. SkillsPlanner launched in 2015 with £1.3m two-year Innovate UK R&D project, partly-funded by Innovate UK.
Lewisham Construction Hub
Building local growth
Funded by Lewisham Council and the Mayor of London, the Lewisham Construction hub is a partnership between the Council, Lewisham Southwark College, our job brokerage BuildLondon and the BE Group, and brings together expertise to help residents find jobs, training, apprenticeships and work experience in the construction industry. The hub also provides support and advice to local businesses, employers and developers in order that they can fully benefit from the expected £2 million of investment in the area.
Joining the Dots
Delivering more with less
Increasing social inequalities, an increase in the demand for public services, coupled with cuts in funding called for an innovative new approach in the city of Reading. Building on the excellent partnership work already being done by key local corporates, public service providers, charities and community groups – Ethos took up the challenge to drive the formation of a collaborative and facilitating ‘hub’, called Joining the Dots. With a collective vision to improve living, working and wellbeing in Reading, this project is already starting to make a difference in some of the most deprived areas of the borough.
